M.I.A. (but now I’m back)

My last entry was in late May. How sad. I’m letting you know that I’m ok and life is good. As good as it can get. Unless I win the lottery, that is. But that could be bad. So yes, I’m good.

I have been knitting. Not so much over the summer, but it’s picking up now. I must admit that I had no desire to knit for a few months. Why blog when I have no motivation. I even stopped going to my knitting group. But I will be back!  (I’ve warned you…)

So the knitting mojo has returned and I’m ready to start on my Fall knitting.

I did finish my July socks and one sock for June. I just did not like the pattern. Well, I guess I didn’t like anything in June/July. But I did finish my July socks on July 31. Yay!! I’m only one sock behind for my goal. I’ll catch up on that one when my August pair is finished. I cast on that sock last night and did a few inches so I’m happy.

I also made one fingerless glove. the other one will be cast on soon and finished. And I’m working on Endpaper mitts. I made a mistake, and I don’t want to go back and fix it. Guess it’s hiding somewhere….

And I made a hat for my baby. It’s bright green acrylic. It took me a day and it fits my 16 year old. But 2X2 ribbing will do that. I wanted something quick that won’t bother me too much when it gets lost. And it will, if it isn’t already.

So why all the winter wear knitting? Because, sadly, summer did not happen this year in these parts. Looking at the 16 day outlook it won’t either. All the heat from the West just kind of dissipated before it got to us. Maybe Lake Michigan absorbed it all. I don’t know. All I do know is that I used the AC once (in June!) for about a week. And the fans are hardly on. It’s been a weird summer for sure. I don’t mind too much since the heat melts me but it is nice to get  a few scorcher days in the summer.

Ok, so you want to see some pics? Let me see what I have.

I  made this for my youngest daughter. It fits nice and looks good. I like seeing it on her. I made it a little longer than required.

Well, that’s all I have for now. I’ll take pics of my socks and stuff and post soon-ish on that.

Glad to hear you are doing well. We haven't had much of a summer here either, but there is still a little time to squeeze in some nice weather before it starts to snow.

Cute sweater!

Smart to make the top longer, so she can grow into it.

You are not the only one with a lack of motivation. My knitting has been slow and my blogging even slower. Hopefully things will change for the better soon, I hope :)

I love your daughter's top...you did a great job on it and I bet she loves wearing it. Great color!

happy knitting :)

We've had a pretty hot summer. I'm in Georgia, afterall!
