Slacking...not really

I have been unbelievably busy. Too busy to even blog. Yet I still manage time to find patterns that I will never be able to knit...ever!

Actually, I wrote a post last Friday, but as the day wore on, it never got published. So this post is just a quick update on my goings-on and such.

I joined waaaay to many swaps this month. I keep a notebook of my addresses to who I need to send out that month, the swap, and what to send. Anyway, I figured out that  I needed 7 dishcloths by the 20th. Wow, and I didn't even have one! But I got busy and still have one more to finish, but it will only take about a half hour or so.

I was tagged in DishRagTag. As soon as I got the box, I got started on the cloth. It took only about 1-2 hours to knit. I sent it off within 5  hours of getting it. Hopefully the rest of the team can keep up the momentum and we can finish close to first....

I started another Serafina shawl, this time in boucle (crazy I know!). I don't know if I like boucle too much...I guess it's not as bad as some of the bulky stuff I worked with before. Red Heart Light and Lofty is from hell...but maybe this stuff is too...I definitely need to take it slower.

I also cast on for Porphyria last night. Late last night.  For those of you not on Ravelry, this pattern is for a pair of fingerless gloves. Very pretty. I am using some sock yarn I received in a swap awhile ago. I don't know if it will work with this pattern, or if I'm even loving the color of the yarn, but we'll see how it turns out.

I also finished some broomstick lace fingerless mitts.  Hubby hid the camera, so I will do another post with those. I don't think I'm in love with broomstick lace. Maybe if I had the right equipment. It seems very fiddly, but the outcome is nice.

Ok, so you want some pics? Here you go:

002 This is a scarf as part of the Yahoo group Weekly Kal/Cal. It was very quick and easy. I think if you crocheted this in one piece, it might take about 2 hours. It's hard to tell with the pic, but it's lacey and long. I like the ribbon accent.

004 This is Balme from Berroco website. I know this is not the best pic, but it's a nice cabled purse. Maybe I should have used stiffer yarn since it's floppy, but it reminds me of a nice big sweater. I started this ages ago, and finished this up about a week or two ago.

012 I made this cute little crochet case in one night. Crochet is so satisfying if you need instant gratification or a quick project.

014 I like how the hooks fit right in. You make a "tube" along the rows that the hooks slide into.

015 And here it is closed up. A nice little contained roll. I used cotton in WW.  You could add more rows if you needed to for more hooks.

043 Y not Celebrate, from Cloth of the Week Yahoo group. I liked making this cloth. It was done in Guacamole.

045 Oops I dropped a Sticth, from Cloth of the Week Yahoo group. I don't know the color. I got it in a swap.

Ok gang, that's it for today. I will have another post tomorrow with a show of some goodies I received in the mail.

Anita nice job,

I hear you on the swaps, I backed off for a month or two.

I'll pick up again for maybe a holiday swap, besides October is contest week again. I need to be prepared, lol

Foe being busy, you sure have a lot to show for it :)

Love your cloths...I used to try to keep up with cloth of the week and monthly dishcloth groups, but found it was too hard and gave up. Now I feel freer, but I'm still busy. Wish I had more time to do everything I want to do :)
