Birthday Cake and the Park

I was going to do a nice long post yesterday, but my computer was acting up and I could not download any pictures. Hmm, isn’t technology wonderful?

I don’t have any knitting pics to show today. I haven’t been doing a lot of knitting lately. A few rows here, a few rows there. I will post pics of some FO’s in my next post.

It’s getting to be spring around here. No budding leaves yet, but the weather is definitely warmer. We got to turn the heat off for a few days and even went to the park.

The Merry go round was a big hit for all the kids.

And the slide.

Playing in the sand. I don’t know why kids love sand and dirt so much.

We also did some swinging and some more sliding….

It was a fun day. And very warm. The walk to the park was nice for all of us, even the dog!

Now I told you last week was the “bookends” birthdays.  I call them that because they are the oldest and youngest of the kids, kind of bookends, you see?

013

Of course we had to get a green shamrock cake!

And here they are! Kind of hard to believe I have kids 15 years apart.

And what is a birthday without pictures of the 1 yr old eating cake?

After. He pretty much ate the whole thing. And he loved it!

Isn’t that sweet that he would share with big sis?

Well, that about does it for today. It’s going to be even nicer this week. I’ve been getting the kids outside as much as possible, taking my knitting with me of course. It’s fun to watch them run around and play and have lots of fun.  And kind of relaxing too. I just wish the cars driving by would go A LOT slower. Like barely moving, LOL!

Oh yeah, on one last note. If you are into knitting shawls, my friend Vicki is having a Shawl KAL on a yahoo group. The pattern for now is free but will be for pay once the KAL is over. I haven’t knitted a shawl like this before so I’m kind of excited to play along. I just need to get some yarn and wait for the clues. Did I mention prizes? She’s giving away 3 awesome prizes (for the finished shawl with pics) bundled very creatively I must say. This gives me incentive to stay with it. Heard enough? Want the link? Go here and join the group!

I love the merry go round you have at your park. I haven't seen one of those in aeons. I had one at my park when I was a kid and it was lotsa fun. DD hasn't seen one yet as our park doesn't have one of those ( or a see saw).e
