Bunnies!

I know I’m crazy. But that’s just how it is.

Someone posted on Freecycle that they were getting rid of their Lionhead Rabbits. I ignored the first request since it was too far away. But when it was reposted a few weeks later, I jumped on it. We got 2 bunnies, a male and female, for free!

So I need your help in naming them. Our family has agreed to pick the winner from the comments section. So comment with some names!

001

This is the girl bunny. I think she’s around 2.  She has had some litters before.

007

And this is the boy. He’s fathered at least one litter.

Remember they are Lionhead rabbits. We don’t want names like Fluffy or Cottontail or Hoppy of Jumper or Thumper or anything too cutesy.  Our family has weird names. Our dog is Ngozi (Na-go-zi) which I think is Ethiopian for Blessed.   So there you go.

I can’t guarantee a prize besides being honored with the knowledge that you had the best idea for names. Beyond that, we’ll see.

I am terrible with names and especially with unusual names...

I would have said ashes (girl) and smoke (boy), LOL

The first thing that popped into my head and I have no idea why was "Bonnie and Clyde"......

I think I liked Ashes and Smoke better though...

Heh -

I think she looks like a Helga to me. The male is a little tougher. Harold, perhaps?

Cute though!

Pretty! They have great manes to be so "old" (Lions tend to molt them out and either have no or very little mane when adults). The female is a sable point and the male is a siamese smoke pearl (or maybe a blue seal, it's hard to say with the longer hair). I used to breed and show these guys.

I like the names Hodori for the boy (the mascot in when the Olympics were in Korea... it was a tiger, but that's close enough to lion, right?) and Nahbi for the girl (Korean for butterfly). Or maybe Jumho ("fist") and Chung-mi ("rose").

Do we see babies in the future? If so and you need info/help, email me!

How about Lwaxanna for the girl and Ferengi for the boy? I have a ton of Star Trek names where those came from.

They are just beautiful. I love bunnies. Names, Hmm... I'm not so good at that myself. Aslan had always been my favorite fictional lion, and Narnia is quite in these days. How about Aslan and Tumnus (I know tumnus is a fawn, but I've always loved him, too).

Your new bunnies are so cute. I know nothing about rabbits...are they angora? If so are we going to see some handspun yarn in your future?

Hmmm. They're a couple (are they married yet?) Bella and Edward from Twilight?

Good luck with the naming.

So, you want something not too common or cutesy huh?

How about Wakiza? It's Native American for Determined Warior. (boy name)
