Yep, it's Friday. How did Friday get here so fast, when it seemed like yesterday was only Monday?
Today is the last day of VBS for the kids. They really love it. I think it's kind of corny, but hey, the kids are learning good stuff. Tonight, they get a pizza party since they raised $175 for a local charity this week. Not bad for a bunch of kids!! They will be sad when it's over, but hopefully a good memory.
Our car broke down. But that's not the bad part. Nope, it broke down at least 3 miles from home. So me and hubby had a nice long walk ahead of us. It took almost an hour. Thank goodness that it wasn't hot and humid, that we were going east (at 7pm), and that we did not have to go uphill at all. So it was perfect for a long stroll. I think my legs are gonna fall off today. I never walk that far for any reason. Hopefully we can get the car fixed this weekend. We need groceries, and I am not walking to the grocery store!!
I have been knitting some. Here's a few dishcloths I finished:
This is the starfish cloth. From the sew-funky blog. I also did the windmill last week. I like her round designs. They are definitely not your ordinary round cloth! I used the wrap and turn method so there are no gaping holes on the short rows. It turned out very nice, and the pattern is sooo simple.
Another round cloth. This one crocheted. I made this at my knitting group meeting on Tuesday. How cool is that, when you can finish a dishcloth during a knitting group meeting? That's one reason I like crochet. It's so fast and gratifying (when it goes right!)
And I picked up a bag of roving from Vicki. She's the best, really. And she sent me a pattern I was looking for. How awesome is that?
This will be some good spinning practice yarn. It's so soft...Thanks again Vicki!!
Ok, here's the SP12 question of the week. I decided not to bother answering the ones about vacation, since I don't take them and have not in ages, so I had nothing to say.
What is(are) your favorite place(s) to knit? My favorite place to knit is probably on the bed. I can stretch out, lay back, and watch TV. My stuff stays in the same area, and it's cool in there!!
What supplies (besides yarn & needles) make the setting perfect for knitting? First, you need to have a drink nearby. Coffee, ice tea, soda, or water. Knitting makes a girl thirsty. I also need a pen and paper handy, just in case. Post its are good when following a pattern. Oh yeah, can't forget the chocolate. I love munching on chocolate when I knit. Or rather, letting it melt in my mouth.
Ok, now on to Friday Fill-ins
1. I believe whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
2. If you're good at something, do it, share it, teach it to others!
3. Why so much heartache and destruction in the world?
4. Something is out there, it's called reality, and it's not the Sims!
5. If my life were a sitcom, it would be titled SAHM knits daily.
6. Sitting on my back porch [if you don't have one, use your imagination] I see the wide expanse of my backyard that slowly slopes to a fence bordered by a nice alley.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching a movie tomorrow my plans include waiting for hubby to fix the car and Sunday, I want to go grocery shopping in our fixed car!
Ok, that's it for today. Here's a pic of our growing puppy. I know, his eyes are not weirdly blue like that. Must be reverse red-eye or something.
