American Flag mug rug




I knitted this up, and thought I would share. I guess this would be my VERY FIRST PATTERN!

It's not much of a pattern, though. I borrowed some ideas from some sites, then it kind of became its own thing.

I casted on 25 and knit 4 rows of each color, always joining on the same side. I decided to cut the yarn at each join, which left some fringe already there for me.

I looked at pics of the flag, and there are 6 white stripes and 7 red stripes. I was going to do them all, but ended a little short. I did not want to make it too big. It's big enough now for a can of soda and even a regular size coffee cup.
