Clap Progress

I decided to get going on my clap. I hadn't touched it since I first cast on and did the first 3 repeats of the increase section.

Well, the project got pulled off the needles and stuffed into the bottom of my knitting bag. I decided the best thing was to rip and re-start.

This is the increase section, plus the first 4 repeats of the straight section. I've dropped the stitches 4 times now, yay!! It's taking longer to do the straight section, since there are 107 stitches to deal with, plus slipping all the stitch markers. I'm using metal straights, which is not fun. Metal and slick yarn are not a good match. I guess that's adding to the time as well.

Here's a close up of the dropped stitches:

I really like this pattern. It's easy to do. Mindless, and fairly fast. Just knitting and purling. I just got through one skein of yarn last night. I might not use all 4 skeins.

On to other news. I joined dish rag tag. Found the link on Abigail's site. Thanks for the PSA!!! It's only for the first 300 people to sign up, and only for US knitters. Basically, there are teams that knit the same pattern. The first one to get it done, wins!! Kind of like a round robin race...Go check it out if you're in for some knitting fun.

I also found the coolest groups on Rav. It's RAK and Handmade RAK. What's a RAK you ask? A Random Act of Kindness. People post what they want. You scan the list, and send it if you have it. The thing I like is that it's random on who or what  you select to send, and if anyone sends back to you. I like this since it's a swap, with nothing in return. You can only hope...

I've already made a commitment to send a RAK to someone. And I've posted a list of stuff I want. No big deal. I can't think of anything I want made for me. Most things I want, I can make myself. Maybe I'll just have to be a RAK sender. For now.

And I did join the Ravelympics. They made it easier to join, so I went ahead. I am doing the sockput and scarf something. Basically, I am going to do a pair of socks toe up using short row heels and toe on DPN's in a basic rib. And I am going to complete a scarf, the drop stitch scarf using my Patons SWS I received in a swap. I think that is challenge enough for me. I wonder if I can handle that in 17 days.

Finally Friday Fill ins, late as usual. How does Friday go by without me even realizing it?

1. If I could travel back in time, I'd go to Jerusalem, when Jesus rode in on the back of the pony.
2. Give me Taco Bell or give me Chik fila

3. I am listening to SpongeBob on TV in the living room.

4. Somewhere, someone is thinking get out of my way!!! 5. I'll always be a mom
6. My idea of a good time includes knitting needles, nice yarn, and peace and quiet!
