I did it YaY!!! I set my goals for the Ravelympics, and I accomplished them. It feels great to finish. Success.
Last Ravelympics, I set my goals a little less. I wasn’t sure how much I could do in the short time frame. I pushed myself a little more this time, and I accomplished two things: first, my Ravelympics goal; second, my charity projects.
I finished a WIP. I could have done more WIP’s but that would leave me no time for my other projects. These were the last socks I started in 2009. I messed up on them, but I still finished!
I made a shawl also. This one was pretty easy to complete and very quick. I like this pattern, and I will make more of them.
These socks were very quick and easy. I hardly needed the pattern. I did use the Basic Ribbed Sock pattern. The yarn is Sock Ease on size 1 needles. I made size Medium. They turned out great!
Onto charity knitting. I made 3 hats for Pine Ridge. They are various sizes.
3 pair of socks for Pine Ridge. I finished the last one up on Sunday, Feb 28 around 9PM. Gave me enough time before the official rules called for closing time. These are knitted in Wool Ease on size 4 needles. The pattern is improvised. I took two different patterns and kind of combined them. I did a slip stitch heel since I think those are more durable.
Lastly for charity, here are the mittens. Various sizes and yarns. I used Classic Mittens pattern and a size 3 needle. Makes for a nice thick fabric. I think I will make future mittens out of wool since these are acrylic. Once they get wet, forget about it. But to keep hands warm, they are fine.
I also decided to dye a skein of yarn I had hanging around. You know, naked wool crying for attention. So I gave it a dip in green! Perfect for St. Patty’s day, I think.
I went to bed last night with aching hands. It’s ok though. I have a RAK I need to finish and get in the mail. Someone on Ravelry asked for some baby items for her boy due in early April. I won’t have any more babies, so it’s perfect for me. Baby stuff is so cute and pretty quick to knit up. I’ll show it once it’s been received.
What else do I have planned? Lots. The Ravelympics sparked a fire in me. I have a short list of items I want to get done in the next month. Then I might try working through my queue. Or I just might add more, LOL.
