Update

Witty title, HUH? Yeah, but that’s what this is. I do have some FO’s to show off.

I made these hats for a RAK on Ravelry. The lady who requested a soft hat has a family member going in for surgery and chemo this month. She wanted the hat to be super soft and blue/green.

The Durango Hat again. I think these are fine chemo hats and the button makes them stylish. I hope she likes them. I made two since I had the yarn anyway. The yarn I used is Deborah Norville’s Serenity WW. Very soft. I like this pattern since it’s so quick to make. I made these 2 hats in a day!

Remember the girlfriend shrug (pdf) I was talking about before? I got started on it. I had a coupon for 40% off at Joann’s and got 2 skeins of this Baby Jacquards. I had Olivia pick out the color she wanted. I must admit that it’s pretty boring to knit. And the fact that it’s knit flat stockinette stitch adds to the boredom. It’s been sitting on the side table for days. The girls don’t appreciate it anyway, so why hurry?

The Ivy Cowl. (Rav link) This is the prettiest thing I’ve made in awhile. This gave me a hard time. I had to rip it out several times to get it right. Just can’t read patterns, LOL. And lace knitting, even as simple as this, gave me troubles. I have too much chaos in my house to be able to knit lace properly. Oh yeah, the yarn I used was Caron Spa in celery. Soft, but splitty.

This cloth is called The Gift of Time. It’s one of the choices for the Ravelry Weekly Dishcloth KAL. The yarn is a yellowish SnC I think.

The other choice was the tricolor cloth. I used red, hot pink, and a pink/white/purple variegated. I think for it to look better, the variegated should have been lighter in color. I cast on less stitches and it went pretty fast. It came out nice and dense, too. This is a perfect scrap cloth that takes little effort and looks amazing when done.

I’ve been bad. I got this swap from Bev a long time ago and promised to post it. But I haven’t, so here it is. I just want to say Bev is an awesome swap partner and I love my package. It’s from the Round Robin Group on Ravelry, and the theme was “Favorite Things”.

So, here are some of Bev’s favorite things:

You see the picture along the side? I think that’s her view every day. Amazing and simply beautiful. I’m going to call this the self-indulge swap since it’s full of things to pamper ME! Bath stuff, hot coca, a nice book to read. I kind of buried the cloths, but there are 2 very nice cloths in there that were crocheted. And the creme de la creme yarn from Red Heart. I can’t get it around here, so was tickled when I saw it. I’ve been wanting to try it out for awhile now. So thanks, Bev, for the awesome swappin goodness!

Well, that’s my update so far. I’ve been thinking about my contest and how I want to proceed. Weekly prize? Bi-weekly? I’ll let you know soon.

You're so productive. It feels like a long time since I last cast off something.
